The Google Maps Guide to Ghostbusters

Click to launch map in new windowHey! There’s a Ghostbusters symbol in my Google logo! What’s going on? One’s a movie, and one’s a search engine. Next thing you know, fish will be flying, trees will be swimming, cats and dogs living together — mass hysteria!
Welcome to the Interactive Google Maps Guide to Ghostbusters. You can click the Google logo above or the map image below at any time to launch the map in a new window, or read on for more info.

Click to launch map in new windowI’ve created a mashup of Google Maps and every New York City location used in filming the movie Ghostbusters and its sequel Ghostbusters 2 that a person might be likely to visit on a trip to Manhattan. It’s my first time using the Google Maps API, but I think I’ve come up with a slick way to use it. But still, let me know if anything doesn’t work right.
Also, if you’d like to link to the map, please link to this entry’s permalink instead of the map itself. Thanks.
Ready? Check it out! The map will open in a new window.

Nice map. Where'd ya find all those locations? Some seem pretty obscure there.
Also, looks like you're missing a few.

Hey. Ghostbusters is a cool movie. Thanks for the great site!
I'm trying to set up a map site for all the hangouts on the old TV show "Spencer for Hire". This site has been inspiration. Maybe you guys can assist me too? Obviously there's "Knot's Bar" in Brooklyn, and Spencer's apartment across the street. Check it out if you want: www.chanticleer.con. Peace out man!

"Spenser for Hire" was in Boston, not NY.

How about making a Google Earth file with placemarks showing the same information for use within Google Earth? It's pretty simple to do from within Google Earth, or even easier if you find a tool to convert your waypoints from Google Maps into KML.

This absolutely Rocks! You're so my new hero. :) Thanks for putting this together.
I'm a big fan and actually was on site (and maybe on camera?) for a crowd scene in the sequel. Email me if you ever want to gab GB sometime. Thanks again!

Hey, it's "Onassis", not "O'Nassis". Ari was Greek, not Irish!

Hey, great site! I'm about to visit NYC from Melbourne, Australia, and was planning to track down some Ghostbusters sites. I hadn't found their HQ till now, so thanks.
